Sediment transport
When the reservoir module is used, the sediment transport also accounts for the trapping efficiency of the reservoirs. The trapping efficiency can either be provided by the user or be determined by the model (Equation 77). The routing of the sediment with reservoirs is a 2-phase process. In the first phase the transport capacity is applied to the routed sediment. In the second phase the trapping efficiency determines the fraction of the sediment that is trapped by the reservoir and the fraction that is routed in downstream direction of the reservoir. This process is repeated when several reservoirs are located in the same river. The user needs to provide a text file with for each subcatchment the order, starting with the most upstream located subcatchments down to the downstream located subcatchments, see Figure 45.
